AHECSHAP is a private training company, which was set up by Professor Tracie O'Keefe to provide a high level of training for people wishing to work as clinical hypnotherapists, psychotherapists & counsellors, some of whom may have no experience or training in healthcare. She has developed the use of Brief Integrative Therapy using the cross-fertilisation of clinical hypnotherapy, psychotherapy and counselling. At AHECSHAP we train students so they can use any of the fundamentals of those three disciplines in their work as a Brief Integrative Therapist. The certification (Diploma) they achieve describes them as a Brief Integrative Clinical Hypnotherapist, Psychotherapist & Counsellor.

These courses are also suitable for psychiatrists, psychologists, psychotherapists, counsellors, nurses, social workers and healthcare professionals wishing to add Brief Integrative Therapy to their skills as continuing professional development.

While AHECSHAP does not offer degrees or doctorates in hypnotherapy, institutions which do offer these qualifications may give credits for prior learning towards those courses. These include non-campus universities such as Calamus and the American Pacific University. Students would need to check with each institution in question.
