For thousands of years, healers have been using different forms of hypnosis to help the unwell become well once again. Just think about it for a moment: your body is composed of billions of cells, not run by your conscious mind, but regulated and organised by your unconscious mind. So doesn’t it seem logical that when helping people to heal, the unconscious mind is one of the very first places you need to start?
Modern medicine often attempts to heal everything at a conscious level and if you consider that the conscious mind is less than 1 per cent of your whole ability, then is it any wonder there is growing chronic illness in the world.
As a naturopath, medical nutritionist and clinical hypnotherapist I look at the patient as a whole because the whole is greater than the parts. I take a full medical history and consider the best ways to promote, accelerate and support healing from any physical disorder or malady. Some of you who are older may remember that people used to stay at convalescence homes many years ago after they had been ill – for very good reason. After illness the body needs to rest and the mind need to spurt that happening.
It has been scientifically proven, time and time again, over the past 50 years, that the use of healing hypnosis and the field of hypnosis and immunology (psychoneuroimmunology) has had phenomenal results in helping people, who in many cases, become well again. I help people with cancer, HIV and AIDS, ME, Irritable Bowel Syndrome, fatigue syndrome and general immunological breakdowns.
The mind and the body are one, so if clinical remedies support the body with medications, natural or otherwise, it makes sense to support the mind to help the healing process though hypnotherapy.
