Sex Gender Sexuality Gender Dysphoria Transsexual Transgender Sydney Sex, Gender & Sexuality Clinic Sex, gender and sexuality problems come in many forms and can include inorgasmia (the inability to orgasm), vaginismus (difficulty for females to have intercourse), premature ejaculation, retarded ejaculation (unable to ejaculate), impotence, paraphelia (sexual attraction to unusual objects), and sex, gender and sexuality dysphoria (a person's discomfort with their sex, gender or sexuality). As well as treating these conditions in my clinic, I also help people to achieve a higher sense of pleasure in the fields of sex, gender and sexuality, focusing on excellence as well as resolution to dysfunction. As one of the major clinicians specialising in clinical services for the sex, gender and sexuality dysphoric, I have always campaigned for clear information to be available to the client group. That means the client being clearly informed about what they may expect from clinical interviews and intervention performed on their behalf. On the initial visit to my clinic I take the time to make a full assessment and propose a way of working with the person so that they may be aware of what could be the best way forward for them. I not only follow The World Professional Association for Transgender Health's Standards of Care but I was a founding member of that association's ethics committee and promote the highest standards for clients by encouraging professionals in the field to belong to the association. At no time is the client kept in the dark about what is expected of them or what they may expect from me as a clinician. All treatment is carried out in an open, understandable, humanistic manner to the highest possible standard. Also as someone who is also active in international gender politics I am sensitive to the many needs this diverse group of people can bring to my clinic, and these needs are handled on an individual basis. People may come to me either with or without a doctors referral and all referrals to other doctors, endocrinologists, surgeons and specialists can be dealt with through my office. I only refer my clients to the very best that medicine can offer and as I say in my book Trans-X-U-All: The Naked Difference (Extraordinary People Press, ISBN 0 9529482 06, 1997): "Pick the best and forget the rest". My second book on this topic, Sex, Gender & Sexuality: 21st Century Transformations (Extraordinary People Press, 1999)looks at many people who have diverse identities that do not fit the classical "norm" and how we artificially construct our sex, gender and sexuality identities, both in private and in public.
